My Story

From the time I was a youth til Freshmen year of college I have struggled with my weight. Convience foods such as Ramen noodles, sodas, chips, and fast food were the norm in my household and I couldn't seem to resist them. As I ballooned to an astounding 175lbs at just 5'1" I felt I had lost control of my weight and my eating habits. I couldn't fathom how I was going to stop gobbling down a pan of brownies as I mindless watch TV and laughed with my friends. It was at that point I took control of my life and began to research healthy ways to lose weight. I was tired of being fat, and embarrased because I couldn't wear "the cute clothes". It was at this point I took charge and started working out a few times a week, and began to make progress along with making healthy swaps.

At the time I used mostly the GI Diet, and that seemed to work for that period of time as well as mixing my workout up with exercise videos. Low and behold I got too comfortable after reaching my goal and put some of the weight back on during my sophomore year. I was devasted because I though I had learned better the first time. This time i decided to try the Smart Ones/Weight Watchers approach and buy the portioned controlled meals at the grocery story. I must admit they were delicious, but my dependency on them was unhealthy becasue I never practiced portion control on my own. In this economy you may be unable to buy special "diet foods" all the time and that is when your ability to measure food by measuring cups, eye, or weight scale comes in handy. This time I did keep it off, but only after learning two key forms of advice. Fast forward to my senior year in college and I have become an avide runner and fitness fanatic. I am always challenging myself to make working out fun by challenging myself to train for the next race or to keep my healthy in peak condition. Because I know the challenges of losing weight and my love for fitness I decided to get my ACTION Certification and on DEC 20, 2014 I became certified to train others and help them reach their goals.

1. Diets DO NOT work.

A diet is a temporary fix. In order for a change to stick you need to implement something that you can keep up for life. What happens when you reach your goal and your"diet" is over? Now what? You need to know the steps to maintain your weight and fitness level, and that is where I can help you.

2. We ARE NOT cookie cutters. Not all eating plans work for everyone.

I have learned that not all eating plans work for everyone. Some people are Vegans, some like to eat small meals throughout the day whereas some people like to eat three big meals, some people have cheat meals and some don't, and some eat clean all the time. My point is you have to know what works for YOU. For me that is 5-6  small vegetarian meals per day, but for you that may look different. I can help you tap into your eating habits and creat a long-lasting plan that will maximise your results and  put you on track for healthy weight loss.

Please consult with your physician and dietitian and/or nutritionist.
